Michael Korn began to play violin at the age of five and studied with preeminent Soviet violin pedagogues G.Turchaninova, Z.Bron, and M.Liberman in Novosibirsk. Later, he attended the Gnessin Music Institute in Moscow where his mentors included violinist G.Zhislin and cellist V.Berlinsky of the Borodin Quartet, and the Rubin Music Academy in Tel-Aviv where he studied with Y.Kless and I.Svetlova. Michael concertized in the former Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Israel, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Morocco, Netherlands, Spain, Tunisia, and the U.S. Among the highlights of his career, he performed at world-famous venues such as Small Hall of Moscow Conservatory, St. Petersburg Small Philharmonic Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Concertgebouw Hall in Amsterdam, Symphony Hall in Boston, and on top of a Soviet Army armory vehicle in a small Siberian village. Since coming to the U.S., Michael performed with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, Boston Classical Orchestra and Boston Lyric Opera as well as with the critically acclaimed Chagall Trio.
Michael performs as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles throughout New England, most recently performing Glass' Double Concerto for Violin and Cello with Craig Hultgren, McRay Daniels and Fall River Symphony Orchestra.
